Education is your best weapon against diabetes
If you or a member of your family has been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, learning about the disease and how it can be managed is your best defense.

What does it mean to participate in a clinical trial?
Deciding to participate in a clinical trial is a very personal decision. Before reaching your decision, learn what you can about the trial and clinical trials in general.

ITN clinical trials for newly diagnosed patients
The Immune Tolerance Network is actively pursuing clinical trials of experimental therapies that aim to halt the autoimmune processes that cause type 1 diabetes.

The AbATE Trial
The AbATE clinical trial is testing an experimental therapy known as hOKT3γ1(Ala-Ala) to determine whether it can halt the progression of type 1 diabetes in newly diagnosed individuals.

The study is taking place at 6 clinical centers in the U.S. and is seeking individuals between the ages of 8-30 who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the past 6 weeks.
